Many years ago music was invited for people’s enjoyment

Many years ago music was invited for people’s enjoyment. Each generation has a specific genre that they like to listen to. In today’s time when turning on the radio you hear one thing and one thing only, mainstream music. Many people enjoy today’s genre of music though most do not understand the meaning of this body shaking, heading banging, word scrambling “junk.”
Most of the music has a great beat, catchy lyrics, and the type of music is what we grew up with in our generation. Not all new music is horrible music, but some artists of today have forgotten the main components that make truly talented artist. Take a look beyond mainstream music for a moment, and look at how much music truly has changed. Sometimes, not always for the better. The music industry has changed a lot in the past 40 years, though some good aspects were carried on.
A few decades ago in the 60s, 70s, and 80s many bands from these eras have become internationally famous. Their music has become classic. Artist like The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Nirvana, and so many other successful bands. All of these bands became famous, because they had something that’s hard to find today, real talent. Many of the bands of the past wrote music that had real depth to it. Their lyrics were meaningful, they wrote their own music, they played multiple instruments, they didn’t use auto tune or synthesizers, and many other factors. Using something like auto tune was considered an insult back in the day. Today it is almost on impulse, and everyone is using it so it is not much of an indignity anymore. It is more of the new regular, which makes it obvious that some mainstream artist of today lack the natural talent of the past.
Many of the lyrics have no real depth to them anymore either. Lots of mainstream artists do not even write their own music anymore. The music is repetitive, and the lyrics sometimes involve swearing and the same typical situations, like “going to a club tonight,” “let’s get this party started,” or the typical thought that every song has to be about love, falling in love, being in love, or something having to do with love. It would be great for some artist to try and expand their music into more than just one topic of “love,” and try writing a song about different issues or situations in life. Music for people isn’t just music, some say music is healing. Music can have deep meanings that bring the difference of people closer together.
The difference between pop music produced today versus pop music produced in the 60s through the 90s is true sound, poetic lyrics, and a real passion for the music, not the money. Although there is modern music I enjoy, such as folk/indie bands and even synthpop, the sound of music and the ideology of music have evolved. Rather than the raw voice of Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant, today’s most famous musicians are auto tuned, bubble-gummy, and emotionless.
