When thinking about stem cell research
When thinking about stem cell research, most people might only think about the ethical and political issues that may arise, and not about the beneficial aspect of scientific research. Stem cell research can help better understand the development of cells as well as finding hope for new treatments for different diseases. Some of the ethical and political issues that have been brought to attention have been issues of donations of biological material, research with human embryonic stem cells (hESCs), (Lo & Parham, 2009). Other issues that have been brought up have been regarding the issues of embryos being a human life, at the start of conception and not only after the fetus has formed. (Lo & Parham, 2009).
