Our societies advance to participation in crime opposed to women in India although the acts of the government to develop bills that prosecute men who try to rape women and also criminalize offenses like stalking and voyeurism. In this article we have scrutinize the idea of crimes which are opposed the women in India. From the very starting point of our society women are being cheated in every ridge and edge of our society. Now in recent time of our country these crimes against women are being increased up to the level of uncontrollable. The starter of our society is in crisis.
Although women may be victims of any of the general crimes such as ‘murder’, ‘robbery’, ‘cheating’, etc, only the crimes which are focused clearly against women are appearances as ‘crimes against women’. Peculiars new legislations have been brought and changes have been made in vanishing laws with a view to grasp these crimes conclusively. Crimes against women are of various essences. It contains crimes including sexual exploitation for economic gains like prostitution & trafficking, adultery, abduction, rape, wrongful confinement, and murder etc. On other hand and crimes also contained to women’s property like dishonest misappropriation, criminal breach of trust, domestic violence, and dowry extortion and outraging the modesty of women etc. on the other. These crimes are not only abusive and noxious for the women but for the society as a whole. We are dividing the crime against women in to some groups namely;
(a) Sexual crimes
(b) Matrimonial offences
(c) Offences relating to dowry

(d) Offences relating to miscarriage

Background of Crime
In earlier times, the rank of women in India was subordinate to men in the empirical life. Notwithstanding, they had a higher position in book of books. They are concerned as the absolute and classical home maker in the world. With their indistinguishable quality of patience of their mind, they can easily grasp even difficult circumstances. Indian women are absolutely caring or dedicated to their families. They’re addressed in the names of Goddess Saraswati, Goddess Durga, Parvati& Goddess Kali. Their situation remains constant even during the modern times with only little shifting. In India, women were never given any right of liberty & equality. Their circumstances become even bad when they gave blessed to girls. Men treated them in ashamed way. They were not only accorded not to step outside their house but also declined from being educated. They were also expected to eat after their husbands or even sometimes to eat their husband’s leftovers. Women were obstructed from prohibited from taking external matters as well as domestic matters. They were under the influence of their parents before marriage ; their husband after marriage.

Concept of Crime
Crime is a breaking of a law in which there is harm to the public or a member of the public and a term in jail or prison, and/or a fine as credible penalties. There is some conception for disallow from the “crime” category crimes without victims, such as consecrated acts, or violations in which only the perpetrator is hit or muddled such as personal use of illegal drugs .
Crime has also been defined in social or non-legal terms. The social definition of crime is that it is behaviour or an activity that offends the social ethics of a particular community. Mower (1959) has defined it as “an anti-social act”.
Let us take an example. Mahatma Gandhi not only himself contrasted from caste rules but also induced others not to supersede them. Yet, Mahatma Gandhi was not designed an irregular because his deviation was for the good of the society. The deviation that harms the society is strongly denounced .

CATEGORIES OF CRIME AGAINST WOMEN
I. Sexual crimes
Every animal on the earth is engaged by the opposite sex; it is not circumscribed to human beings. But to the given legality to the sex between the human being in the society, the idea of marriage was established. The entities of marriage are to legitimize the sexual kinship, between the two opposite sexes of able-bodies. In India other kind of illegal sexual kinship are there namely rape, act against the nature, illegal intercourse, adultery etc.
Rape is the active enlarging crime in India in related to murder, robbery and kidnapping. According to the report of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), every 60 minutes, two women are raped in this country.
There is several kind of rape,
• Custodial rape
This kind rape was made more punishable than rape committed by other person not having any custody of woman. Section 376 of IPC, describes the several punishment for the custodial rape.
• Rape on a pregnant woman
Rape on a pregnant woman is horrifying kind of rape. Where rape committed by a man. On a pregnant woman of any age, it is deliberate in nature, so it is put in several category of rape.
• Rape on a girl under twelve years
Rape of a girl under twelve years is a horrifying kind of rape and is against the whole society. It should not occur in the collapse of public spirited. It is duty of every member of society to stop such kind of rape.
• Gang rape
Gang rape is also heinous kind of rape. Where a woman is raped by one or more in a group of person’s activity in advocacy of their common intention, each of the persons shall be deemed to have committed gang rape.
• Rape by husband
Sexual intercourse by a man with his wife is not rape, if the wife is above 15 years age. Where the wife is below 15 years but above the age of 12 years, and sexual intercourse is made by her husband it amounts to rape.
