In this case study

In this case study, Kendra and Austin seems to be conditioned by associative learning. Associative leaning is divided into two types- classic conditioning and operant conditioning. Classical conditioning is the most appropriate assessment for this case study. Classical conditioning is form of learning in which reflex are associated with new stimuli. It is evident in Kendra’s feeling of terror at the sound of a particular motorcycle that her ex-husband rode. She is anticipating her ex-husband’s arrival and associates his arrival with punishment, his abusive behavior. Therefore, abusive behavior starts out as neutral stimulus. Kendra learned to expect that the abuse would follow the conditioned stimulus, the sound of motorcycle and her terror associated with a specific motorcycle sound is her conditioned response.
