Adolf he failed the entrance exam to

Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 in Braunau, Austria, a small town across the Inn River from Germany. Right after the birth of Adolf, his father, Alois Hitler, moved their family to Linz, Austria. Hitler was a good student at first while attending school in Luniz, but as he went to high school he became a very poor student. In 1907, Adolf went to Vienna Austria, in an effort to fulfill one of his dreams, and that dream was to become an artist, his attempt to become an artist ended when he failed the entrance exam to get into the Academy of Fine Arts.

When Adolf’s mother died he continued to live in Vienna. Adolf decided to try to take the entrance exam again a year later and he fail it again. At this time Hitler was very troubled disappointed (Keesee 10). Hitler started to live in cheep apartment rooms, and sometimes even on park benches, and often had to get his meals from charity kitchens. During Adolf’s time he spent in Vienna, he learned to hate non-Germans. Hitler was a German-speaking Austrian and considered himself German.

Hitler ridiculed the Austrian government for recognizing Bowers 2eight different languages and believed that no government could last if they treated all ethnic groups the same (20). In 1913 Hitler went to Munich, Germany and when World War I began in 1914, he volunteered to be in the German army. When World War I ended Hitler was hospitalized and recovering from temporary blindness which was probably caused by a poison gas attack (30).The country was now bankrupted because of the funding of the war, and millions of people were unemployed. In 1920, Hitler joined the National Socialist German Workers Party, which were known as the Nazis. The Nazis called for all Germans, even Germans that were in other countries, so they could unite into one nation.

They wanted the treaty of Versailles to be cancelled. Hitler moved up to the leader of the Nazi party and built up his membership quickly, mostly because of his powerful speaking ability (Lutzer 8). Hitler organized am army for the Nazi party and called them the Storm Troopers which were also known as “Brown Shirts”.

They were usually called upon to fight groups that were tying to break up the Nazi rallies (25).Bowers 3On November 9, 1923, Hitler led more than 2,000 Storm Troopers on a march to seize the Bavarian government. Hitler’s attempt to do so failed and he was arrested and sentenced to prison for five years for treason. During Hitler’s time in prison, he wrote a book called Mein Kampf, which meant My Struggle. In his book he put his beliefs and plans for the Germany’s future.

Hitler only served nine months in prison and when he was released, he started to rebuild the party again. He set up a private group of guards known as the Schutzstaffel. By 1929, the Nazis had become an important minor political party. Hitler got real involved with the Germans, forgetting where he came from. He started to really hate the Jews and Christians (30).Hitler came up with the idea of concentration camps, there is where he killed and tortured the Christians and Jewish people. This era of time was known as the Holocaust, it was the slaughter of over six million Jews, two-thirds of them were European Jewish.

There were also five million others that were persecuted so there believes and religion, so there was a total of eleven million people that were wiped the face of the earth (Benton 50). Bowers 4There were two main phases of the Holocaust, the first idea was the period between 1933 and 1939, the Nazi rise, and the period between 1939 and 1945, the period of war. One of Hitler’s first concentration camps opened up in January of 1933, when the Nazi’s had came to power (61). The Holocaust was the destruction of people, not because of who they were, but because of what they were. Groups such as handicaps, mentally ill, Gypsies, homosexuals, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Catholics, Jews, Negroes, Poles, Soviet prisoners of war, political dissidents, and other types of people were persecuted by Hitler, because of their religious/political beliefs, physical defects, or because they did not fall into a certain category.

His plan to rid the world of these people was called the Final Solution (Benton 101).World War II began in 1939 when Hitler invaded Poland to begin his connecting of all the people who spoke German. By this time concentration camps had been established throughout Germany, Poland, and Russia (110).Before Hitler was stopped in 1945 by the Allied countries, he had caused the extermination over twelve million people across the earth.

Hitler committed suicide Bowers 5in his bunker on April 30, 1945 and seven days later, Germany surrendered. There were very few Holocaust survivors, but one famous Holocaust survivor Nobel Laureate said that “the essence of this tragedy is that it can never be fully conveyed.” (qtd. In Lutzer 85). The Holocaust prisoners survived because they really wanted to live.

Just because the Holocaust did happen does not mean that there was no other way. The world powers chose to look the other way and pretend that the Nazis powers were doing nothing, which meant they were in agreement with the Nazis behavior. If the Allied had fought earlier, it is possible that millions of deaths could have been avoided (90).In conclusion, Hitler took his hatred for others to the extreme, your problems could be solved in other ways, than killing and/or torturing people. How would you be able to hate someone as much as Hitler to go as far as he did with the whole situation. It is true that the whole Holocaust could have been avoided, if someone would have stepped up to Hitler.
