When first born to a family

When first born to a family, as a child we don’t know what race we are born in. What are the rules of living in a society in the family? As we grow up we learn the way our family lives and how they value life. What they consider more important in life than anything else, is what we learn. While growing up I too had earned so many values from my parents. They have taught me many things that come first and many things that come at last. Not only that I was taught a few things that I shouldn’t be doing at all. The top three values that I was taught were to respect my elders, family reputation comes first than anything else, and society comes before freedom. I lived with these values for most of my life. They had created so much influence in my life.

The top three values that I was taught were to respect my elders, family reputation comes first than anything else, and society comes before freedom. I lived with these values for most of my life. They had created so much influence in my life.
I have always respected family members that are elder to me. My parents taught me how to talk to them. What I should say to them and what I shouldn’t. This makes them appreciate my parents because they say the parents’ upbringing on this child is really nice. Everyone that I talk to, I was never supposed to say their name, while I talk to them. If it is someone that I am not familiar with and is part of my family, I have to call them uncle or aunt, if it is a woman. This has influenced my life because now I respect everyone that is older to me. I don’t talk to them rudely. Also the way I see life is, if you respect someone, you will also be respected and appreciated by everyone else.
The life given by god has a very special meaning a value in which people sometimes forget to thank or either regret. Many students/adults believe that they are going to be popular if they have money and a good job buy forget that people are influenced by those who have learned something. Also a lot fail to remember, to earn value you must earn it. In today’s economy the government creates a value on the person by looking at the position they are held for. If you look at it from the society’s point of view they believe people should be given value according to what they do and what position they are. From an individual’s perspective they judge themselves on what they accomplish and achieve.
In one’s life, their values help build what kind of person they are. In my opinion, honesty, faithfulness, and dedication are the best values that one can have. Firstly, honesty allows others to know who you are and are able to trust you. Secondly, faithfulness helps you from hurting others around you. Finally, the value of dedication helps people become more responsible. Just as I believe that good values show that you are a good person, bad values reflect just as much about one’s character. Lying, cheating, and even having no values at all, in my opinion, are some of the bad values one may have. First, lying hurts many people that it affects and no one ever trusts you. Next, cheating never helps anyone; it always hurts them in the long run of things. Also, having no values is bad also because you have nothing to base what you do off of. You have no ability to know what is right and what is wrong. Just as in life, your values exhibited by the characters in the story informed my opinion on who was the best and worst character.
Values are those things that are important, meaningful and valued by an individual, a group of people, or an organization. Whether we are aware of them or not, every individual has his or her core set of values, which consist of many different kinds of values. Each individual’s value system is different from one another because individual’s values are built up through one’s life experience, environment, and family background. Values are important to us because they reflect our personal moral standards, shape our behavior, and guide us through long life journeys. Since we live in a highly connected society, each person’s value system does not only affect one’s own life, but also affects many other people. However, we should pay attention to our manners, utilize our communication skills; and on the bottom line, we need to avoid intentionally hurting people.
When coming across people who have total different opinions from mine, I always act respectfully. For example, at school, we have to do many team projects; most often, team members may come from total different cultural background, and thus always have different opinions about the same thing. Being respectful to other students, I am well-mannered, using appropriate language, opening to criticisms, and conducting myself professionally. If everyone knows how to respect to others and act respectfully to each other, we will easily to get along with each other and thus there be more happiness and less conflict in our society, so we will make the world a better place.
Second, I highly value integrity. Integrity is defined as “a concept of consistency of actions, values, methods, measures, principles, expectations, and outcomes. In ethics, integrity is regarded as the honesty and truthfulness or accuracy of one’s actions.” It generally means not intentionally harming others, not stealing from, not cheating, or being fair to, others. I value integrity because it manifests a person’s inner strength, honor, kindness, and geniuses of one’s soul.
Each individual has their own perspective on how they want their life to be. As Steve Jobs mentioned in his inaugural speech “Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your inner voice”. The meaning of this quote is just do what you love and do not let anyone else tell you what to do. In life you just have to be your own self and believe that you can and will achieve. Your life will only be worth it if you actually accomplish something you wanted to do not what others want you to do. Several high school students tend to find a job while attending school and stay with it for the rest of their life. However, what they do not realize is that they are missing out on what they actually wanted to do in life not make money with the job they hate doing. The value of life has to be interpreted throughout high school as well as college because if you do not figure it out then you will end up doing something you will regret in the future.
In conclusions, everyone values at least one thing in their life. My values are mainly the things that create me for what I am today. Family is indeed the most important, ethnicity is just what comes with me when I was born and I respect that the most. Memories are things that I would never trade for in my life and will keep them to myself or even share the memories with other people establishing more new memories. Life would be very different if I had no values, and I’m pretty sure it goes for everyone as well. Perfection is created by the values of life which one has.
At last but not the least I would like to end with a renowned quote by the Father of our Nation
“Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.”
? Mahatma Gandhi
