Todays’ education is very expensive and many people of the middle and lower classes are not able to afford paying tuition fees. This is a topic that I believe has caused a great controversy over the past decades. Students from underprivileged families that work hard in school deserve the opportunity for a college education. The opportunities that students could have had in future jobs and their careers had been taken away because they couldn’t afford school. In my opinion, that’s not fair at all. Workplaces today are leaning towards a more educated employee, making it a must to attend college to be in the running for well-paying jobs. If a student couldn’t afford school, they most likely will not be able to get a well-paying job nowadays and won’t have a bright future. The solution to this is that the governments throughout the world should work on the program to make education free and accessible for all. The government would be investing their money for a worthy cause and not wasting it, but spending it for our future. The money being funded would help educate our country, which means that people will have more chances to get into school to become doctors, lawyers, nurses, and for many other professions. Most students would finish their college education and this will eventually pay off when they get jobs and have to pay their taxes. There are more than 44 million students in student loan debt in the U.S. alone. The average student in the Class of 2016 has $37,172 in student loan debt. This causes students to become stressed trying to find the money to pay their debts which results in them having to work. When college is free, students can focus on school, and not their jobs. Nearly 80% of students have to work at least part time jobs, interfering with school. Free education will empower young people to go to colleges and universities, to acquire new skills and knowledge. 63% of people around the world are not educated because they have no funds for education or rather support their families by working full time. So this is why education should be free and covered by by the government.
