The first stanza describes a beautiful woman who was not named by Byron. Byron implies the beauty like ” cloudless climes and starry skies”. She has black hair and bright eyes like the dark sky of night and shining stars.
The second stanza of this poem, Byron not only talks about the beauty of the woman, but also has a perfect balance of her beauty. “One shade the more, one ray the less” refers back to the first stanza which mentions dark and bright, which is balanced in her face. The balance between the dark and light is clearly visible on her black hair and the expression on her face. Her expression also shows how sweet her thought is. The word “sweet” means that her thought is pure and innocent.
In the last stanza, the blushes appearing on the woman’s “cheek,” her smile, everything on her face, all uncovers her sterling temperance. She is quiet and elegant. She is not only have a beautifull face, but also kind. It is why she is looking so calm.
