The diagnosis of a learning difficulty is made based on family and clinical history, psychometric tests and physical tests. The evaluation models which are more effective lead directly to the implementation of intervention strategies that take into account data obtained in the evaluation. After assessment and bases on the results are implemented, intervention measures can be appropriate in each case. The importance of early intervention and identification is the key to helping the child. The identification of a problem is the key to its resolution. The sooner a problem is identified then we can help more quickly. (Aylward et.al 2003). The identification, signalling and evaluation of children who show signs of future problems before they start school, can allow the implementation of early intervention programs to prevent or minimise failure.
These effects are various: negative attitudes in relation to reading activities, depreciation of school, low self-concept, low school performance, low vocabulary, decreased reading activities, loss of opportunities to develop comprehension strategies (Rasinski & Padak 2004).
