Tesco earn money by selling their goods and services. This means that they sell their products at a high price and make a huge profit. This is the responsibility of the sales staff to customers as they can find out about the business and how it affects them. For example, adverts, publicity and websites. Tesco has Publicity and a website and it has an advert because it tries to persuade people to come to Tesco rather than going to ASDA. This shows there is competition taking place in the business. Marketing is all about finding out what the customer wants. Selling is all about showing customers that you can please them by providing them with the products they want for a good price. This can be done by the marketing department inside a company for example Tesco or by an external market research agency.
Human resource
Human resource is a strategy which demands that an organisation should manage its employees in a way which is consistent with the objectives of the business. Riaz (who is the owner of the business) said ‘internal communication is the best form of communication as we work together and talk to each other as part of a business’ Written communications include internal business memos, formal letters posters etc. in Riaz pharmacy as the workers work close to each other they choose to use written communication to reach multiple individuals with similar messages. Written communication also creates a paper trail for important messages. Riaz said “the best form of communication is within the business and not communicating to any other businesses such as Whalley Range Pharmacy especially if you are talking work related to other people.” This shows that internal communication is the best form of communication.
Also in Riaz pharmacy the workers are required to acknowledge receipt of the message or respond with a time frame. They use written communications to ensure that they have documents when correcting an issue or dealing with important legal situations. Business communication is an integral part of running and managing an organization or business. Owners, managers and employees must be able to effectively convey their thoughts and ideas to other individuals working in Riaz pharmacy or outside business stakeholders. Fortunately, several types of communication methods are available for individuals working in Riaz pharmacy.

This makes it possible for the information to reach the desired place without any hindrance, at a little cost and in a proper way. Informal communication-Informal communications are not part of the formal structure of an organisation. Informal communications include speaking to a person about the weather, writing an email about your holiday, sending a birthday card or asking for medicine. Informal communication is communicating normally about anything and not just work.
Oral communication-oral communication is the process of verbally transmitting information and ideas from one individual or group to another. Oral communication can be either formal or informal. Examples of informal oral communication include:

I have been to Riaz pharmacy and have asked the owner, Riaz, about the business and he has told me the different functional areas of the business and how they communicate to each other within the business and out of the business. Evaluation
My evaluation includes how well I have worked on each sector and to use activity specifications to evaluate which parts I have done well and which parts I haven’t done and why. Firstly I have done research and found out the functional areas of the businesses and how they operate as a business. I thought some things were good and some things which I did weren’t good so I changed them to make them how I wanted them. I believe I spent too long on the Research log and the work schedule which gave me less time for the main parts which need doing. The thing that I thought didn’t go well was that I never did enough research for the business and I think that will bring my grade down.
The hardest thing which I faced was when I visited Riaz Pharmacy to get information about the business, I wanted to interview the store manager but as always his job was busy so as he had other things to do as well. I got a lot of key information from there however what was difficult for me was that I was young as I was still a kid and the person I was speaking to was hard to speak to and ask questions which was hard for me. Nevertheless I still got information out of the manager for example the certain communication methods the employees communicate to each other and also the different functional areas of the business. Also the Riaz Pharmacy marketing director and owner Riaz said “we use many different forms of communications within the business and between different sectors of the business” this means that Riaz pharmacy use different forms of communication in the business and externally from other businesses. This shows that my local business (Riaz pharmacy) uses many different forms of communication within the business and also out the business. For example a worker from Riaz pharmacy could communicate with one of the workers for Whalley Range Pharmacy. This shows the communication between both businesses and how they operate and communicate with each other explicitly as both businesses are opposite each other. This overall shows that both businesses communicate with each other in many different ways.
