A has been going on between the families

A Soundtrack piece for Shakespeare’s play, the Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet The first act of the Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is an act of love and hate. Like any play or story the first act introduced us to the main characters that we will be seeing throughout the play. We learn right in the beginning of the play about the long lasting rivalry between the Capulet’s and Montague’s. The prince comes into the scene to break up the fight between the Capulet’s and Montague’s.

The prince tells you how many times the fighting has occurred when he says, “Three civil brawls, bred of an airy word, By thee, old Capulet, and Montague, Have thrice disturb’d the quiet of our streets”(1. 1. 76-78).

This conflict between the Montague’s and Capulet’s is important to the play because there has been this long lasting fight between the two families for years and they are unaware why they are fighting. This also tells you that even though this battle has been going on between the families Romeo and Juliet still manage to have so much love for one other.When Romeo sees Juliet for the first time in the Capulet house he immediately falls for her.

Romeo finds out that Juliet is a Capulet but still loves her just as much as when he knew nothing of her. Romeo begins to talk to Juliet and basically tells her that he loves her and wants her to kiss him when he says, “If I profane with my unworthiest hand, This holy shrine, the gentle sin Is this , My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand to smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss”(1. . 91-107). Since this scene is about where Juliet and Romeo first fall in love with one another I decided to choose the song “Knock You Down”, by Keri Hilson because in her song she sings about falling in love with a man so fast that she is thinking about spending the rest of her life with him. Just like Romeo and Juliet they fall for each other instantly and want to spend their life together, they end up getting married in act 2.

Keri Hilson sings, “ I never thought I’d fall for you as hard as I did(as hard as I did, yeah) You got me thinking about our life, our house and kids(yeah) Every morning I look at you and smile, cause boy you came around and you knocked me down(knocked me down). ” Since this whole act is about both love and hate I also decided to choose the song “I’m At War”, by Sean Kingston and Lil Wayne because the song describes a man that would do anything and everything for his love including going to war.Sean Kingston sings, “I’m at war, fighting for the one that I love, and the one that I truly need, I’m at war, shawty I take a bullet for you girl, because you mean the world to me.

” Sean Kingston is like Romeo in this play he has fell for Juliet and is willing to do anything. Meanwhile, Juliet and Romeo’s family are at war basically and have some much hatred built up for one another. The family feud literally becomes a war in act 3 when Mercutio and Tybalt die. The second act of the play is all about love.Romeo and Juliet have instantly fallen in love with each other. They are well aware though that they can never be official because their families can’t stand each other and if their families found out there would be a risk that they would never be allowed to see each other ever again.

Juliet doesn’t see why Romeo being a Montague has anything to do with her love towards him. She thinks that Montague is just a name; it isn’t a leg, or an arm. She wants Romeo to disown his name so that they can be together.When she says, “Tis but thy name that is my enemy; Thou art thyself, though not a Montague. What’s a Montague? It is nor hand, nor foot, nor arm, nor face, nor any other part belonging to a man.

O, be some other name! ”(2. 2#-#). Since Juliet almost seems upset that out of everyone in the world she had to fall for Romeo and on top of that he is supposed to be her foe.

I choose the song “I Hate That I Love”, By Rihanna and Ne-Yo because this song is about loving someone that you wish you didn’t, which describes Juliet’s dilemma perfectly. And I hate how much I love you boy, I can’t stand how much I need you, and I hate how much I love you boy, but I just can’t let you, and I hate that I love you so”. Romeo goes and sees Juliet after the Capulet party. Juliet leaves to good to bed and Romeo says will she leave him so unsatisfied tonight, Juliet asks what he wants.

Romeo asks Juliet to marry him and Juliet says yes. Romeo goes to Friar Lawrence to beg him to marry him and Juliet.The only reason Friar Lawrence agrees to marry them because he thinks somehow or some way it will end the confrontation between the Capulet’s and Montague’s. The marriage scene is important to act 2 because it shows you the passion and love they most have for one another after only knowing each other for a day they decided to get married. Friar Lawrence goes to marry them when he says “Come, come with me, and we will make short work; for, by your leaves, you shall not stay alone, till holy church incorporate two in one”(2. . #-#).

TYPE SONG HERE ABOUT LOVE AND DESCRPTION WHY. The third act of the play is all about anguish and hatred. In the beginning of the play Romeo receives a letter from Tybalt challenging him to a duel since Romeo decided to crash the Capulet party.

Romeo, Mercutio, and Benvolio were standing in Verona streets and Tybalt walked up to him and demanded Romeo to fight him but Romeo refuses. Romeo says that he loves Tybalt since they are related now and does not want to fight with him when ( where is the love)
