To provide UMUC with the most secure and sufficient network, I have chosen a Cisco port switch for its affordability and dependability in providing everything it needs to protect, optimize and proficient delivery of services. The Cisco series is the most user friendly with the set-up process and its use capability, optimally provides and more sufficient work environment.
Cisco Router provides the highest performance location being in each floor located in the IT service room. These types of routers are beneficial for their capabilities in managing traffic, data sharing & security and WAN optimization, eliminating data slowing. I would propose the utilization of 4 in total to be used, 2 on each floor.
Justification
Cat 6a connection will allow for easy connection and the accommodation of the basic network needs of this facility. The use of these devices will provide to most effectiveness for the utilization of high speed internet and most reliable method of security.
