: Personal Development Report •Please write a report exploring your own personal development goals in some detail, explaining both your identified needs and how your goals complement the strategic development of your organisation or the sector in which you work / wish to work. •You should respond to the feedback you received for the first assessment and make reference to the material studied throughout the module. •As we said on Saturday this is a fairly short report, 2000 words and therefore you need to ensure that your energies go into the words you write and not too many headings, sub-headings and long direct quotes.I think Gemma asked if there was a need for an abstract and I confirmed that there is no need for a separate abstract, but you should have a clear introduction and a clear conclusion section.
•We also clarified on Saturday that there was no need for paragraph numbering, but if you want to use it that is fine – providing that you are genuinely writing paragraphs and sections, don’t purely number every sentence you write. • I suggest that structure the middle section of your report on what the brief asks of you, that is: •• exploring your own personal development goals in some detail •• explaining your identified needs and •• how your goals complement the strategic development of your organisation or the sector in which you work / wish to work •You’ll be aware that the brief asks you to respond to the feedback you received for the first assessment and make reference to the material studied throughout the module.Responding to your feedback does not need to be written about, it needs to be acted on – so if you were advised about your writing style, structuring your writing or explaining yourself, simply improving on that in this assessment is fine.
• •I am happy for you to either write three middle sections one each on the above bullet points, or to structure the report in a way that suits your goals more appropriately. As long as your structure makes sense to the flow of your writing, that is the main thing. You might also want to look at the Academic Skills website for guidelines on writing essays and reports •
