Olaudah Equiano was a slave since he was at a very young age of 13. When he got of age as an adult at 21 his owner let him buy his way out of slavery. Olaudah hated being a slave, when he was free from slavery he talked about how bad it was for him. There were days that went buy where he was on a ship and he had no food he starved. Benjamin Banneker wrote a letter to Thomas Jefferson about how slavery should be abolished because of how wrong it was to all the slaves. Ben felt that Thomas should feel the same way as him and know that it was truly cruel and misery.
