In John Adams miniseries on HBO

In John Adams miniseries on HBO: Join or Die, John Adams, a well-known farmer and lawyer, was requested to symbolize the British soldiers in the court of law of Massachusetts for establishing what is known as the Boston Massacre. The Boston Massacre began as a street quarrel that developed on March 5, 1770. It was amongst a “patriot” mob which were throwing snowballs, stones, and sticks to a group of British soldiers. The brawl initiated when various citizens attacked a British sentinel. It became a destructive street confrontation amongst American colonists and a commanding British brigade. John Adams defended the British because he was dedicated to the rule of law. He believes that everyone deserves an equitable trial which signifies having a exceptional lawyer because accusations are not a form of confirmation and if the soldiers were not the ones who initiated it, then they should not be punished for something they did not commit. He was concerned that innocent people were going to be executed because of him. Adams and his wife had a very close relationship because Abigail would give John advice and a second opinion in order to assist him in court with his case. He took into consideration of his wife’s consultation which lead him to triumph in his case. John Adams and Sam Adams were cousins and had distinctive opinions on what was fair for the people. Sam Adams claimed defending the British soldiers was a form of betrayal to the cause of freedom while John Adams declared that the reasons the colonists desired independence was to free themselves from the lawless actions of the government. At the end, John agreed to the Patriot’s cause because the people require a strong government.
