Good communication plays a key role in promoting job satisfaction at all levels of the organisation and targeting this communication is particularly important at shop floor level, by having the associate see that production leaders and managers live and breath the values of the company, in turn this encourages them to see how important these values are, but communication is a two way street, its just as important to listen to the grass roots work force, when we listen to and act upon this information, this helps t cement this common bond in team work, it shows that their input is just as important as their managers, this is key in consolidating the team, promotes a passion and inspires them to work towards that common purpose.
I have already explained the importance of having a common scene of purpose, however good communication is key in establishing and maintaining this purpose, the how, what, why, when and to a degree who communicates, can all have an influence on its success, and is key in effective communication, to little communication for example can lead to low moral, suspicion, and the employees scene of worth within the organisation, to much unnecessary communication can cause confusion and wastes time, the communication needs to be meaningful to the audience you wish to target, you may have some import points you wish to communicate, however the salient points are lost in the non important dross, for example if you were to communicate world wide car sales to a managing director, he would want in depth analysis, the associate on the shop floor may only want to know how many thousand cars were sold this year against last year.
