One of the characteristic that we can discuss in Persian cat is its behaviour. Annoyance behaviour, such as excessive meowing or jumping on the counter , is where they start want to have our attention (Bedwell-Wilson,2018). It is more like attention seeking behaviour so its better to give attention to our cats in a good way says Terry Marie Curtis. ACVB, a clinical behaviourist at the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in Gainesville said we should playing with our cats and providing an outlet for all of its energy.
Human like to play with a kitten using their hand. The result only encourages the cat to bite and scratch when the kittens are adults, Dr. Curtis said. she also said “It isn’t a good idea to play with a kitten using your hands and feet,” (Curtis, n.d.) . ” the kitten may be cute when they are small, but the same cuteness can be scary when the cat is grown up and has a complete set of teeth and nails! Without him notice, they don’t know what they did wrong. Instead, use a toys to play with your Persian cat (Dr. Houpt, n.d.). As a owner you need to teach your kitten to submit to its caretaker, Cook Henry says. Persian cat require a daily grooming. Persians need to be taught to rest quietly without a fight or bite the hands that comb them. It’s natural for cats to treat human hands like prey. At the least, your Persian must know that grooming time is not playtime.
Persians are gentle, quiet cats who like a serene environment and people who treat them kindly say Henry Schein(n.d.). He said, unlike more athletic cats, they prefer lounging on a sofa to scaling the heights of your bookcase or fireplace mantel. Children are acceptable to the Persian as long as they are content to simply pet him and not drag him around or dress him up he said. Sometime, the Persian may be a welcome guest at a little girl’s tea party and wear a costume before returning to pose beautifully on his sofa. To make it clear, just make sure children treat this cat with the gentle respect he deserves (Henry Schein, n.d.).
The Persian may greet you with a quiet meow, but in most cases he lets his eyes do the speaking for him Henry Schein(n.d.). They will not mine to spend the time alone because with our presence is enough to make them happy. When we have a trip, its better to have a pet sitter come in and care for him in his own familiar surroundings than to board him in a strange place that he does not familiars (Henry Schein, n.d.).
Persians are creatures of habit. They spread widely and live in a nice secure environment and are not especially attached of a sudden changes. With gentle and consistent reassurance, they can adapt to lively households. Most Persians are meticulous self-groomers. However, they still need someone to take care their glorious coat.
